ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE MANAGER
RESTON, VIRGINIA

We are actively looking for a detail-oriented and professional Accounting and Finance Manager to join our team in Reston, VA. The Accounting and Finance Manager will lead, manage, and guide a team of two while providing hands-on support to ensure an efficient and successful accounting and finance function.  This position requires at least 10 years of increasing accounting and finance experience combined with demonstrated experience in GAAP, QuickBooks, financial analysis, and team management responsibilities.  This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with excellent benefits (e.g., health, dental, vision, and paid time off).

What You Will Do
This position is responsible for providing hands-on financial leadership in accounting and financial functions that include:  accounts payable; accounts receivable; cash management; general ledger; reconciliations; billing; budgeting; and financial forecasting, analysis, planning and execution. 

  • Prepare financial reports, statements, and documents in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Analyze accounting and finance information and prepare recommendations for management.

  • Continually analyze, research and identify accounting, workflow, and productivity technology and tools to increase accounting and technical proficiency of self, others, and company.

  • Process accounts payables and receivables including coding and entering vendor and expense invoices, compiling supporting documentation, and recording bank deposits.

  • Download statements and reconcile bank, credit card and loan accounts each month.

  • Prepare journal entries for accounts, fixed assets and depreciation. Ensure that vendor detail is complete and accurate for year-end 1099 filings.

  • Run monthly trial balance to verify that general ledger accounts are in balance. Analyze the trial balance and make any necessary adjusting journal entries to correct discrepancies.

  • Ensure that external documentation submissions and filings are accurate and timely.

  • Provide proactive guidance and counsel to executive management on all financial and accounting matters with an eye towards increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial operations and resources; work with executive management to develop and implement a financial management strategy.

  • Develop accounting and budgeting policies and procedures.

  • Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information to evaluate operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other areas influencing the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the business.

  • Design, develop, and implement effective internal controls for all finance and accounting processes and recommend changes to improve system and financial performance.

  • Develop, maintain, and track financial-related measures of business success.

  • Identify expense reductions and present solutions to management.

  • Manage a small team providing guidance, review of work, and coaching/mentoring.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

What You Bring

  • At least 10 years of responsibility for accounting and full charge bookkeeping related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries through trial balance, including general ledger reconciliation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, and/or related field.

  • Experience working in a consulting business and/or small professional services business preferred.

  • Experience managing a team focused on accounting, finance and bookkeeping responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated expertise with GAAP.

  • Excellent written and verbal communicate skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, Word and Excel.

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and other workflow and accounting applications a plus.   

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot and improve business processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence to work effectively with team.

  • Excellent attention to detail and keen sense of focus on producing high quality deliverables.

  • Strong organizational planning skills with a high sense of urgency in meeting deadlines.Flexible and able to multitask; can work within a fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions.

  • Able to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.

SENIOR RESEARCH ANALYSTS
RESTON, VIRGINIA

A successful Senior Research Analyst is a highly-motivated and forward-thinking individual who has a keen interest, proven skills and extensive experience in conducting database research across the entire due diligence spectrum, from basic screenings to investigative matters, from independently handling database-only research to overseeing research projects involving multiple team members. He / She must also have had success in leading multi-stage projects and serving as a positive, enthusiastic role model and mentor for others on the research team, as well as reviewing / editing research reports with speed and accuracy. Experience with providing research guidance to junior team members, along with successful management of client relationships, is also highly desirable.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct wide array of due diligence research into subjects by using a variety of Internet-based resources and tools

  • Identify relevant information, take the necessary time to understand details of research findings, and analyze / summarize their significance

  • Create professional, narrative-style reports with proper context that show full comprehension of the subjects and all issues / concerns

  • Manage projects that may require contribution from multiple team members, to include the following tasks

    • Answer research-related questions

    • Review / edit findings to be submitted to clients, checking for accuracy in research findings and clarity in report content

    • Provide  feedback to team members regarding work quality

  • Review and edit other researchers’ reports  

  • Liaise and coordinate work with outside consultants and investigators, ensuring quality and timeliness and consistency

  • Participate in and/or lead due diligence research training for new hires and current team members

  • Communicate regularly and maintain a positive relationship with clients

  • Work closely with IntegrityRisk executives regarding products and services, as well as company initiatives and strategies

Our Research Interns are motivated and talented individuals who have a keen interest and some basic experience in conducting database research of an investigative nature. IntegrityRisk handles a wide variety of US and international due diligence and business intelligence work for our corporate and financial-industry clients, who rely on us to help them identify risks that may be involved in potential business transactions. Research Interns use a wide array of research tools, along with their own research skills, to conduct thorough review of public records and open sources to accurately identify references on subjects of interest. They apply analytical skills to determine relevance and importance of all findings, which are compiled in a professionally written, narrative-style report for our clients, who rely on our research and analysis to gain insight into subjects’ background, reputation and status so they can make accurate, key business decisions. Research Interns will work mostly under the guidance of a Research Analyst or Manager but, with proven skills and interest, may be able to handle work on a more independent basis. A Metro/rail allowance may be available.
